Yeah, I didn't really want to list companies, as everyone has different experiences, and it can vary drastically over time. My impression is that out of all the 'this company has great/terrible customer support' opinions on the web, about half of them are representative of the company, and the other half is one person's isolated bad experience. The trick is telling which half is which. :-)

Ah RMAs.

I have had my fair share.

My 'Golden' companies are:
OCZ Technology (attentive, responsive, and super nice - given I have press advantage). But they have made me a long time customer.
Crucial - Fast and need I say more for cross shipping?
Samsung - Decently fast and attentive (good follow ups to boot).
Logitech - I've heard nothing but good things about them and the blog post above further supports that (It's that Swiss clockwork I tell you ;) ).
Swiftech - very 'community oriented' and quick to remedy situations.
GSkill - Hey company's tech support that actually helped (as in helped suggest timings and fine tuning) me push TCCDs to DDR600 can't be bad right?

Iffy on the wall:
Asus - very impersonal and cryptic web interface that is also pretty tacky (different person answers a whole string of inquiries????)
Creative - attentive people but it kinda ends there lol.

Shame on you companies:
PowerColor - to this day, I refuse to even TOUCH anything with powercolor on it. Break off a cap due to mishandling and try to blame it on me will ya? (good thing I take photos of stuff before I ship em out).
