Default Can't boot up in Win XP

I was getting messages from MS to update the latest updates so I did, after the updates the pc had to be rebooted. Now the pc will not reboot and I cannot even f8 to get it to safe mode. When I f8 I get this:
    "Please select boot device:"
    1st Floppy Drive
    CDROM: PS-LITE-ON DVDC LH52C1P
    HDD:3M-ST32508224AS

I never get the option to boot in Safe mode. The pc was running fine until I did the updates, any suggestions? Thanks.

If this is on a Puget computer I would recommend calling our tech support department: http://www.pugetsystems.com/support/index.php

If not a Puget system, I would note that there are two levels to the boot menu. You are at the first - where you select the drive to boot to. I would pick the HDD option and then as soon as it continues hit F8 again to get the Windows boot menu, where you should be able to select Safe Mode.
