Windows 7 Lag Problem?

I've been having lagging issues with windows 7 lately which will distort streaming video & sound, also logging in becomes slow and startup I have tuneup2011 and run it everyday to keep my computer optimized and I don't have any malware or viruses...what I've found out is if I delete my internet history it will speed back up...which makes no sense is there a reason for this? my specs are

Windows 7
8gb Ram
i5 2500k Processor
Radeon 6850 HIS
1tb Memory

I Even Have Some Windows 7 Effects Off Which I Don't Believe I Should Even Have Too Based Off My Computer Specs But Anyways Is There A Reason It Goes Fast When I Have No Browser History?

Sorry...I don't have any real idea other than the history filling up your hard drive space, but that seems unlikely with 1TB hard drive.

What browser? Have you tried a different one? Same effect?

I have a few thoughts for you to consider, with the hope that they will help...

Do you have a program like MalwareBytes, Spybot, or AdAware that actively scans at the same time as your AV? If so, this could cause slow downs.

You can set up IE and Firefox to empty the cache on shutdown.

Do you have a bunch of stuff that runs at startup? These will cause slowdowns and stay resident in RAM.

I am not familiar with Tuneup2011. I use CCleaner only at need--I don't run it every day. Does Tuneup actively scan your system? If so, that could be part of the problem.

Take a look in the Event Viewer to see if there are errors being thrown by some program or Windows service.

If your hard drive is getting full, a large internet files cache could slow things down.

I hope you get this sorted out.

There is no need whatever for a tune up program, so uninstall it immediately (The proof is in the pudding, i.e. it's not helping you at all).

I have the same problem with our server. Each time I open a file (usually excel) it will take about 30 seconds before it will open. Save it and again it will take the same time. I have searched it with Google and many results say its about the indexing thing about windows 7. How do I disable the indexing of window7 to any folder or drive. Any comments is appreciated.

To turn off indexing for a drive:

Open Windows Explorer
Select the drive for which you want to turn off indexing
Right click and then select 'properties'
At the bottom of the 'properties' window there are two check boxes. The lower on turns indexing on or off.
Uncheck the box "Allow contents of this drive to be indexed..."
Click 'Apply'
Now, go grab a cup of coffee because this will take a while; longer if you have a lot of data on the drive.

As near as I can tell, you can't turn off indexing for a single folder on a drive. Whether or not this will help with the lag is questionable, but worth trying, I suppose. You can always turn indexing back on, if it doesn't help.

Another thing to try is to install and run the free program CCleaner, as I mentioned in my earlier post on this thread.

Edit: I just noticed that you said the machine was a server. If it is a network server, or a file server on a network, turning off indexing may not be a good idea. If there are lags, there may be network issues that you need to invesiigate and fix.

As for me... I also have problem with my Windows 7 Starter... It always Hang up. and worst thing is, it is Licence Copy not cracked. x.x

Not necessarily. This could be a disk I/O problem (a failing HD), a driver issue, a badly fragmented HD, or any number of things other than an issue specific to the OS.

It may turn out that a re-format and Windows reinstall will be the answer, but it could be something simple. It's tough to know because we don't really have enough info to go on.
