MemTest86 is a standalone program that thoroughly tests your memory for errors. The program runs independently of an operating system. To run this utility, you need a blank and formatted floppy disk.
- Download the MemTest86 3.2 file by clicking here. Hit "Save" and save it to a temporary folder.
- Use a decompression utility like 7Zip to extract the archive.
- Put a disk in your floppy drive, and double click on install.bat.
- Type in "A:" for your target drive, and hit enter again to start the disk creation.
- With your disk in your floppy drive, restart your computer. MemTest86 will automatically run.
If your memory can withstand even one pass (which can take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes), you can have confidence that your memory is error free!
