Fractal Design Define R4/XL/Arc Midi R2 Acrylic Window Replacement w/ 120mm fan Main Picture

In some configurations, particularly those with a hot-running motherboard or multiple video cards, a fan on the side of the computer blowing down to onto the internal components can be very beneficial - or even necessary in order to keep temperatures in a safe range. Many cases have such side fans, but if you get a case which does not then we have the ability to modify the side panel to have a fan mounted. When conducting such modifications it is easier to do so in an acrylic window rather than a metal side panel, so the cost is lower as well. In this Fractal Design case, we replace the thin stock acrylic window with thicker, higher quality acrylic window.

If you are unsure if your system needs this, feel free to contact our sales consultants at [email protected]. They will be happy to help!

William George (Marketing Project Manager) Says:
A side fan like this can be helpful when added fresh air intake is needed. That most commonly comes up in systems with multiple video cards, but other hot-running expansion cards can also benefit - like PCIe based SSDs and RAID controllers. If you do not have any of those things in your system, then skipping a side fan will help reduce noise slightly and give you a bigger viewable area in the window.

Note: Available only for the windowed versions of the Fractal Design Define R4, Define XL, and Arc Midi R2

Model: Puget Systems Puget_Def_R4_Window

If a case fan upgrade kit is purchased, the kit also applies to this side panel fan. If no kit is purchased, a Fractal Silent Series R2 120mm fan will be included.
