Puget Systems Description

Performance reaches new heights with the P183, the next enclosure from Antec's high-end Performance One series. With the latest Quiet Computing™ technologies, the P183 delivers first-class performance at its quietest, coolest and most stylish. Dual chambers isolate the power supply and CPU into separate cooling zones with up to 5 configurable fans. Three-layer sound-deadening panels dampen noise even in very high-performance systems. Ease-of-use, sleek design and Antec's reputation for quality make the P183 worthy of being the standard for high quality, quiet systems from Puget.

The V3 edition of this chassis replaces the front eSATA with a USB 3.0 port. This model also has an option to add our custom case window kit for added visual appeal.

We have designed custom shipping materials for this case. Specially made foam and boxes provide superior protection during shipping! Click here for more details.

Puget Systems Professional Advice
Jon Bach (President) Says:
These P183 cases do a great job cooling, and are the quietest case in our line. The front door is also more stiff, which is good -- we had some problems with the P182 doors warping over time. We have not seen that with the P183.

Daniel Brown (Customer Service) Says:
The P18x series chassis' have been among our best selling for quite awhile now. There are good reasons behind this: First, they are designed to keep your computer quiet. Second, they have great cooling performance. Third, they offer relatively easy upgrades with easily removable internal drive bays and optical drive rails that clip in. The P183 V3 is the latest update in the P18x series. Compared to the P183 V2, it's just changed some ports on the front (replacing eSATA with USB 3.0)

Please check it's dimensions against the place you intend to put it. I've talked to a few people who were totally surprised by how large it is 'in person'.

William George (Customer Service) Says:
Unlike the transition from the P180 to P182, with the new P183 the color has not changed: it is still a nice gunmetal grey. However, there are several other changes - both aesthetic and functional in nature - which differentiate this model from its predecessors. The new front design, both of the door itself and the bays behind the door, is intended to improve airflow; whether you like the appearance, though, is up to personal taste. On the inside one of the fans has been moved around to allow larger power supplies, which is nice, but now it is closer to the front of the case and might add a little bit to noise. Personally I like the look of the older models more - but if you are going for a quiet system this series of cases from Antec is still the best choice I've found. UPDATE: Antec is now on the third version of the P183, and has added some new features since its debut. The front eSATA has been replaced with single USB 3.0 port, which is nice as long as you have a motherboard that supports it, and there is a cutout on the motherboard tray to make accessing the back of the CPU socket easier. I think a couple of other things changed too, but nothing else dramatic: it is still the quietest ATX chassis on the market!

Matt Bach (Puget Labs Manager) Says:
This case is our most popular case, and for good reason. Its quiet, has decent cooling, and in my opinion looks great. It's a little big, but if size is a concern, there is always the Antec Mini P180 which has many of the same features, but is designed for Micro ATX motherboards.

Jeff Stubbers (Customer Service) Says:
This is my #1 choice for a case. It is our quietest case, and has great cooling characteristics. The Antec P183 V3 front ports contain 2 USB 2.0 ports as well as a USB 3.0 port, headphone and microphone jack. The only potential drawbacks are the somewhat flimsy front door and the fact that overall this is not a light-weight case. So if you plan on moving your computer a lot, this might not be the case for you.

We also have a small supply of P183 V2 chassis, which has front eSATA instead of USB 3.0 with rear dongle. If you would prefer that port configuration, please ask your Puget representative!
