Puget Systems Description

The TJ08-E from Silverstone is a substantial upgrade in their line of small computer towers. Advances utilized in this chassis include upside-down motherboard mounting, great cable management, and USB 3.0 front ports. A massive 180mm high-flow fan in the front does a great job cooling the internal components, even high-end video cards, and there is a wide range of drive mounting options including a location specifically for a 2.5" solid-state drive.

If you are looking for a smaller system, but with great cooling, the TJ08-E is a strong contender.

Puget Systems Professional Advice
Daniel Brown (Customer Service) Says:
The original TJ08 micro-tower was easily among my two or three favorite Micro ATX-sized cases. Silverstone has done some really cool things with this newly-revised TJ08. The first thing that catches my eye are the nicely uniform black-painted surfaces on the back as well as the inside of the chassis. It has great airflow with a 180mm fan in front. It also includes a 2.5" drive mount, handy for SSDs. There are many more cool features about this case (nice filters, kensington lock support, removable motherboard tray, etc.)

All that said, there are a few disappointments: There is still no provision for hard drive noise reduction (some cases employ silicon mounting grommets, and/or thicker side panels). Also, I believe the front panel is not as nice-looking as the original TJ08. There is a plastic piece at the top of the front panel that somewhat detracts from its look, and the combination of front externally-accessible bay locations makes it look somewhat unorganized - I think what makes it look 'unorganized' is mainly that the 3.5" bay doesn't line up with the 5.25" bays along the right side and looks kind of like an afterthought.

William George (Customer Service) Says:
Please note that some larger CPU coolers, like the Gelid Tranquillo, don't fit properly in this chassis. That is one of the downsides with smaller cases of course, and combined with the noise of the front fan keep this from being in the same category as our Serenity computers... but it is still a reasonably quiet setup overall, and a great choice if you need a smaller size but don't want to compromise on cooling or performance.

John D. (Production Technician) Says:
This is an interesting little case. The TJ08-E replaces the TJ08 in Silverstone's lineup, but you'd be hard pressed to find any real similarities between the two apart from their compact size. The interior layout is completely reworked, with the motherboard being mounted upside-down from typical orientation. Hard drive mounting is improved, with room for a greater number of drives--but large CPU coolers can limit the number of usable spaces. A large front fan with high-low switch provides plenty of air for drives, cards, and CPU, and a clever little adjustable brace helps provide support for heavy CPU coolers. If you're looking for a small mid-tower that's a bit different, the TJ08-E is worth considering.
