We built this PC for a local customer who wanted a high-performance, quiet, and reliable workstation for use with AutoDesk's Revit software, AutoCAD, and Google Sketchup pro. This custom Puget Genesis I build is great for all the required applications and is very quiet for its level of performance.
Autodesk Revit is a Building Information Modeling application used for structural engineering and architectural design purposes. It includes features for handling MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) and construction. Autodesk recommends 16GB of RAM for working with large, complex models in Revit 2014 and we exceed that with 32GB of RAM in four modules to take full advantage of Intel's quad-channel memory controller on the system's 'Ivy Bridge E' Core i7 CPU. The Samsung 840 Pro SSD in this build easily exceeds Autodesk's recommended 10,000+ RPM disk speed for Point Cloud interactions.
