We recently built this system for a customer who wanted both a laptop with a unique look, and a way to keep their sensitive information from falling into the wrong hands. We configured authentication key operation for the SSD in this system so that a password is required at boot in order to unlock access to the drive. One of the nice things about SED is that the encryption is done within the drive itself, so even if the drive were installed in another PC, the password would still be required to access it's data.
SED Encryption configured in this manner is a great way to enhance the security of a laptop. We offer it as an option on all our Puget Traverse models with SSDs.
The vinyl skin customization turned out very nice, as expected. We've installed quite a few of them now with great results, and we offer a wide variety of vinyl skin designs. Vinyl skins are available with all our current Puget Traverse laptop models.
