The customer contacted Puget Systems around the time NVIDIA released their GTX680 GPU which comes with 2GB of standard VRAM. Given that he planned to span games over three monitors as well as load high-definition texture packs made by the Skyrim community, he wanted the 4GB model of the NVIDIA GTX680.
Thankfully our customer was patient because the 4GB cards were rare and not easy to come by at the time. After a few weeks, we were able to complete this high-end gaming system using three EVGA GeForce GTX680 paired up with an overclocked i7 6-core CPU.
The customer wanted to "future-proof" his purchase for upcoming games. Given the components in his system I'd say he's safe for quite a while.
