Traverse Pro with GPU acceleration

Our new Traverse Pro laptop, which will be on display at our booth, has the new Intel Skylake 6700K desktop processor, a GTX 980M for GPU acceleration, capable of up to 64GB of RAM, room for up to 4 hard drives, and a 4K screen.

While we have multiple OS installation options, the laptop we have at GTC has an Ubuntu 16.04 beta and CUDA installation to utilize the GTX 980M for GPU accelerated applications such as the Nanoscale Molecular Dynamics (NAMD) simulation that it will be running at our booth.

Puget Systems DIGITS Box

This year at our booth we will be running and displaying our DIGITS Ready, Peak Single Xeon Tower.

Here are the specs:

  • Intel Xeon 3.0GHz Eight Core 20MB CPU
  • 256GB of RAM
  • 4x GeForce GTX Titan X 12GB

This DIGITS Box will be benchmarking on site at GTC, by training a neural network using the CIFAR10 data set and the AlexNet model. We will be displaying our results, hardware usage, and temperatures so you can see how our hardware stacks up against the competition in real world scenarios.

VR Case Study with METECS at NASA JSC

METECS is an automation, simulation, and software company headquartered in Houston, TX near NASA's Johnson Space Center. They have expertise in simulation, 3D graphics, multibody dynamics, contact dynamics, robotics, software, and automation. METECS was asked to provide a virtual reality solution at Johnson Space Center for the Human Exploration Research Analog (HERA) facility.

METECS chose Puget Systems and our Serenity and Echo Pro solutions to power their VR simulations in the HERA facility at Johnson Space Center.
