Puget Systems had the privilege of hosting Congressman Dave Reichert (WA-8) for a roundtable discussion with other small business leaders from the area. The meeting was organized by the Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition (PNDC), a group of businesses in Washington and Oregon.

Puget Systems is a member of the PNDC, and we recently won an award for New Member of the Year as an acknowledgement of our participation and commitment to the coalition. We take advantage of any opportunity talk to public officials, on both sides of the aisle, to advocate for all small American businesses, like ours. The congressman's visit to our facility was the high point for our advocacy activities so far this year.

The visit started with Jon Bach, our president, giving a personal tour of the facility. Jon was able to show the congressman programs in development, our cradle-to-grave recycling program and other capital investments made by the company. Jon pointed out that our hand-build manufacturing process ensures we create more manufacturing jobs as our business grows.

The next hour was spent with local area business leaders discussing various topics: taxes, federal procurement, the federal budget, health care and keeping people employed. As a government contractor, Puget Systems remains active in the contracting community. We work hard to provide the same high level customer experience to all of our government buyers.

Puget Systems was recently awarded a GSA Schedule by the General Services Administration that any federal buyer can use to purchase our products. This particular GSA Schedule is also available to many state & local governments, and educational institutions as a substitute for their typical bidding process.

We are looking forward to hosting similar events in the future. If you would like to talk to us about advocacy issues, or would like to discuss making a purchase on behalf of a government or educational institution, you can contact Chris Stephens, at cstephens@pugetsystems.com.
