Product Line Updates: OCZ Core Series

Posted on July 3, 2008 by Jon Bach

Just a few updates this week:

1) Solid State Drives just got faster, doubled capacity, and cut cost in half! We can now buy a 128GB drive at up to 140MB/s for $450. Amazing. This is through OCZ's 2nd generation drives, which we just added to the website.

2) Our XFX 8800GT has been changed to Asus 8800GT. We've been having problems for quite some time with the XFX cards, as we would randomly get cards that didn't throttle their fan, making them quite loud. XFX worked with us to solve the problem, but it happened often and was delaying our orders! We are solving this by moving to Asus brand, which always comes with a throttling fan.

3) We've updated our Creative X-FI Xtreme Audio to the Creative X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Pro. Yes, it seriously has a name that long, though I suppose it isn't any worse than "Creative X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty Champion Series". It is a PCI-E card. In addition, we've now grouped our sound cards into three sections -- onboard, gaming, and audiophile/recording. You'll find them grouped in this way on our configure pages.
