Puget Custom Computers Newsletter
I have come to really enjoy these newsletters!  As our customer base continues to expand, it is more difficult to keep up with everything that goes on.  So many of you have an active interest in what we're doing here at Puget Custom Computers, and I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you about it!
This summer has been a summer of growth for us.  Yes, we have always maintained a good growth rate, but this summer is different.  For the last two years, we have enjoyed an average of 300% annual growth.  This spring, we hit a wall -- we could not grow any farther without some restructuring and new strategy.  So that's exactly what we did!  This spring, Dan Guay became the newest member of our team.  Owner of http://www.haymeadows.com , he specializes in optimizing websites for great rankings on the search engines, and he does a stunning job!  Search engine optimization is a long term project, but in only around 4 months, he has gotten our website up to very competitive positions for very popular search terms like "custom computers" and "gaming computers" on Google.com.  Take a look!  We're #1 and #2 for those respective terms right now.  This awesome placement is what will drive our business in the future.  It will allow us to focus our advertising budget in much more creative ways, and should allow us to target specific market segments that we value the most.  I have been in a constant state of excitement for the last quarter with everything that's been happening here.
However, our growth is always dependent on our ability to give personal service and offer fast production.  To strengthen ourselves here, we have two new staff members to tell you about.  First is my brother!  Matthew Bach became the lead builder of our computer systems about the same time we hired Dan.  If you ordered a computer from us after April 2003, it's a good bet that Matthew put it together!  His attention to detail, and his resolve to keep going until the work is done is exactly what makes our quick production time possible.  Once the production is finished, our other new hire, Richard, takes care of shipping preparation and delivery.  As our new delivery driver, you'll see him behind the wheel of our van -- whether it is picking up parts from local distributors, taking a van load of boxes to UPS, or making local deliveries and onsite support visits here in Seattle.
Together, these three new hires make continued growth possible, and free me up to do what I do best -- run this business!  Now that I have more time to do just that, you'll see that there are a lot of new additions to our website.  At https://www.pugetsystems.com/configmenu.php , you can see that we now have focused configuration tools for our mini computers, rackmount servers, and gaming computers.  I am also only about a week away from rolling out a new notebook section of the website.  I would love to hear your feedback and ideas!  What new features would you like to see on our website?  Someone told me the other day that allowing people to rate individual parts and post comments about them could be very useful in helping our other visitors to make a decision about what parts they want in their computer.  I agree!  We don't have high enough traffic for something like that to take off.....yet!  When we do, you can count on seeing that feature.  What else would you like to see?
Due to our new strong position on Google for gaming computers, that will be our first area of focus.  In a matter of days, you will see a completely new section of our website, dedicated to gaming.  Sections on servers, mini computers, and eventually notebooks will follow. As part of this new gaming focus, we also have a new hardware article!  Our newest release:
