Puget Releases Conroe SLI

Posted on August 1, 2006 by Jon Bach

We just posted to our website the new Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe motherboard, which allows you to use Intel Core 2 Duo (Conroe) processors and run video cards in SLI. We're very excited about this offering -- the processor has been the bottleneck in SLI for quite some time, so to be able to use a significantly faster processor is a big deal! The performance of gaming systems just got a big boost

Our current ETA on the Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe is August 14th...maybe a few days earlier but we want to estimate on the safe side!

We're looking forward to posting benchmarks as soon as we do our first build.

Does the Asus P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe support virtualization? I know that AMD's socket AM2 added virtualization support, but I'm less familiar with the Intel/Conroe side of things.

I did some digging, and came across Intel's page on the Core 2 Duo*. In the fine print, it says that Intel's Virtualization Technology requires both a VT-compatible processor and a computer system with a VT-enabled BIOS.

ASUSTeK's page on the P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe** says that the board is "Intel Core 2 Processor Ready". Unfortunatley, it doesn't say anything about virtualization.

For me, virtualization is a must-have feature, so I'm wondering if anyone knows anything definitive about whether this motherboard has BIOS support for Intel's virtualization.

Boy, that's a tough one. It is hard to find information like that. I think you may have to try Asus tech support for that one....possibly nVidia, even.
