Which system is right for you?
There are so many different models, brands, and revisions of hardware that choosing the right components for your system can be a huge challenge. We've taken the time to perform in-depth analysis to determine exactly what kind of hardware is needed for VRED. This ensures that you will be getting a system that has all the capabilities you need without spending money on components that will not be beneficial.
Whether you are using a standard display or a VR setup, this system is designed to give you the best performance possible when working with and viewing models in real-time. While not as powerful as our other system for ray tracing and rendering, this workstation is very compact but still allows for CPUs with up to 18 physical cores and the use of dual video cards.
All of the CPU options on this system are able to Turbo to speeds of at least 4.4GHz, which makes this system a great compromise when you need excellent performance in VRED, but also need the system to work well when working in 3D modeling applications such as 3ds Max, Maya, or Cinema4D.
If you need the best ray tracing or rendering performance possible in a single workstation, look no further than our dual Xeon workstation with two Intel Xeon E5 V4 processors. Rendering and ray tracing is highly effective at utilizing a larger number of CPU cores, and with anywhere from 20 to 44 cores, this workstation should be able to complete large renders roughly 2-3 times faster than our single CPU system.
While this system does allow for dual video cards and can be used for VR, be aware that no matter what configuration options you choose, this workstation will not be as fast for OpenGL rendering performance in the viewport as our other VRED workstation.
This system is based on our Genesis II certified system and includes all of the features that come with that system including free 1-year Next Business Day Onsite Service + 24hr Help Desk support.

While Puget Systems does not currently offer a turnkey solution, our Summit line of servers make for excellent VRED rendering nodes.
