This rackmount system features Intel’s Xeon W 3300 processor platform with an EATX size motherboard. The Xeon W is one of Intel’s workstation-oriented processor families, offering up to 38 cores and ECC memory on a highly reliable platform.
Rackmount cases offer very little in the way of front panel connectivity – just a pair of USB ports – while the motherboard’s rear I/O panel provides the bulk of the connectivity (more USB, audio, and networking). But with lots of space in this style of chassis, a wide range of options are supported internally – including up to four video cards, up to 1TB of memory, and multiple solid-state and hard drive configurations. There are also powerful fans to ensure everything stays well cooled, but at the cost of substantial noise levels.
