Puget Systems Description
This board supports two of the eight- or twelve-core Opteron 6100-series processors: that is up to 24 total cores in a single computer! It is mainly geared toward servers, as shown by it's rear-panel port configuration (integrated graphics, only 2 USB ports, PS/2, and serial) - but with its excellent expansion slot layout it can be used for a workstation just as easily.
Note: This motherboard does not have an onboard sound controller. If you'd like us to install an ASUS MIO Sound Card, please contact your sales representative.
When combined with 2 processors with over 16 cores has been found to have problems when utilizing more than 16 threads in an Windows 7 OS. Server operating systems have been confirmed not to have this issue.
