Sound Card

Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion PCI-E

Puget Systems Description

This sound card, based on Creative's new X-Fi technology, has X-RAM, which can be used by games for increased performance.

It is worth noting that Microsoft has changed the way audio works in Windows Vista and Windows 7. DirectX and EAX hardware acceleration no longer function, in favor of a newer standard known as OpenAL. Creative Labs have developed a work-around, which allows DirectSound commands to be turned into OpenAL equivalents, so that older games can still have high-quality accelerated audio. More information about Project ALchemy can be found here: http://preview.creativelabs.com/alchemy/default.aspx

If you have any questions, be sure to contact our sales consultants at sales@pugetsystems.com. They will be happy to help you find the right sound card for your specific needs.
