PowerColor Radeon HD 5750 1GB Silent
The ATI Radeon HD 5750 is a more affordable followup to the Radeon 5800-series - the first DirectX 11 capable video cards ever made. This particular model offers a little less 3D / gaming performance, but costs substantially less as well. Unfortunately it also has a different cooling fan design, which takes up less space but is less effective as well. Just like the 5800s this card supports three monitor outputs: one through DVI, a second through either DVI or HDMI, and a third that has to be via Display Port. Using all three allows access to ATI's 'EyeFinity' technology for gaming across three screens at very high resolutions. Besides DX11 and EyeFinity, this card also supports Crossfire, OpenGL, Stream processing, the Havok physics engine, and new low-power modes to conserve electricity. Together with the attractive price point this is an ideal card for gamers on a budget and computer users who want an affordable 3-monitor setup. If you want the same feature set, and are willing to spend more for added 3D performance, check out the higher-end 5770 or 5800-series Radeons - or consider a pair of these in Crossfire (on compatible motherboards). This particular version of the 5750, from PowerColor, is a passive model. That means it has no fan, and so makes no noise - instead relying upon airflow inside the computer to ensure adequate cooling. Because of that and the physical size of the heatsink used this card can only be used safely in a select number of cases.
