The ASUS RS700-E12-RS12U is a 1U rackmount server built to utilize a pair of Intel Xeon 6 processors at up to 350W. Each of those offers up to 86 performance cores or 144 efficiency cores and supports 8 DDR5 channels - ensuring plenty of processing power and memory bandwidth for running CPU-intensive workloads.
For storage, this system has two M.2 slots internally and twelve 2.5-inch hot-swap bays along the front for NVMe drives. External connectivity on the rear consists of two USB ports plus an RJ45 and Mini DisplayPort for remote management (IPMI). Please note that mDP output does not natively support adapters to other video formats, so if you need to adapt to HDMI, make sure you get an active adapter.
There are also a pair of OCP 3.0 slots for networking, and the system comes with a dual-port 10Gb NIC pre-installed. Additional networking can be added in the second OCP slot, and you could even swap out the bundled one for a faster model if desired. Lastly, there are two full-length, single-width PCI-Express 5.0 slots available - but no supplemental power, limiting what types of cards can be installed there.
