Gigabyte Z590 VISION D

The Gigabyte Z590 VISION D is an ATX motherboard for 10th and 11th Gen Intel Core processors. It offers a full range of features, a good mix of I/O ports, and solid build quality.

In terms of connectivity, this board is well rounded. It has HDMI 1.4b video output for use with the Intel graphics built into the CPU - a great backup option, in case the dedicated video card in a system isn't working. It also has both analog and digital audio outputs, dual 2.5Gb Ethernet, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, four USB 3.2 Gen 1, and two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports are also present, using Type C connectors which can double as additional USB ports, and a DisplayPort input is provided as well to allow video pass-through to one of the Thunderbolt ports.

Internally it has four DDR4 slots for memory, allowing up to 128GB of 3200MHz RAM. Drive connectivity includes six SATA III ports plus three M.2 slots, though use of certain M.2 slots prevents using some of the SATA ports. For expansion cards, there are four total PCI-Express slots in varying sizes. Dual video cards can be used, though when doing so the PCI-E slots they are in run at x8 speed rather than x16.

Note: The top M.2 slot supports PCIe Gen4, but only works with an 11th Gen Core processor. The middle M.2 slot is PCIe Gen3. The bottom M.2 slot is also PCIe Gen3, and shares lanes with the bottom PCI-Express slot (each will run at x2 if both are populated).
