The MSI S6053G480RAU8 is a 4U rackmount server designed for extreme GPU compute with NVIDIA MGX technology. It utilizes a pair of AMD EPYC 9005 Series processors, which each support 128 PCI-Express Gen 5 lanes as well as 12 DDR5 memory channels. That combination ensures plenty of bandwidth and connectivity for running up to eight dual-slot GPUs, high-speed networking, and a few NVMe solid-state drives.
Storage options include two internal M.2 slots for SSDs and eight front-accessible, hot-swap U.2 bays for high-speed NVMe SSDs. We generally recommend putting the OS on one of the M.2 slots and then using the front bays for storage as needed.
External connectivity consists of a single USB port, dual 10G Ethernet, and a port for remote management. Internally there are eight PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for dual-width GPUs of up to 600W each, along with five more PCIe 5.0 slots for various NICs or other expansion cards.
