RADEON XPRESS 200 core logic
Built around ATi RADEON XPRESS core logic, the Shuttle XPC ST20G5 features Athlon 64-bit socket 939 CPU support, 1GHz HyperTransport enhanced system bus and dual-channel DDR 400 memory. With graphics powered by the RADEON XPRESS 200, this model comes with DVI and VGA outputs, great for dual display multitasking and presentation environments. User's can push this box one step further by installing an x16 PCI-E graphics card for SurroundView triple-display support.
DirectX 9 Integrated Graphics Engine
The ST20G5 is the first XPC to let you play the latest DirectX 9 game titles without an additional graphics card. Users can expect to play Half-Life 2, Wolfenstein, Battlefield, and other hot titles at 800x600 resolution or better with decent frame rates (above 30FPS, configuration dependant).
ATi SurroundView Multi-display support
ATI's RADEON technology allows dual-display management on 2 monitors and on multiple layers of desktop workspace. The XPC ST20G5 takes it one step further with ATI's unique SurroundView technology allowing users to add an ATI external graphics card to enable quad-display management for multi-tasking with multiple applications and complex spreadsheets, and specialized engineering and CAD applications-a benefit not available from any other integrated graphics technology.
Silent X Technology
Integrated Silent X cooling and noise reduction technologies deliver optimized cooling to ensure exceptional stability, comfort and reliability. Optimized cooling features, smart fan programming and best of class airflow means whether at home on the desk or in the living room, the XPC is "Super Quiet, Super Cool."
Integrated Cooling Engine (ICE) Module
The Integrated Cooling Engine (ICE) included in the XPC has been purpose designed for whisper quiet operation. The ICE heat-pipe module uses convection cooling to transfer heat away from the processor. Copper tubing, coated in nickel and filled with distilled water provides the conduit through which heat passes to a radiator. A quiet, speed controlled 92mm ducted fan covers the radiator, providing both processor cooling and case exhaust. Every XPC uses this patented cooling technology to prevent heat damage and deliver some of the quietest computers available.
Smart Fan
To further improve XPC thermal and acoustic performance, Shuttle XPC's include Smart Fan functionality to intelligently monitor and control the cooling fans. Smart Fan incorporates linear control metrics to provide optimal cooling. Under normal conditions, Smart Fan keeps the fan speed low, minimizing acoustic noise. When the load increases, Smart Fan increases the fan speed to provide optimal cooling.
240 Watt Power Supply
The XPC ST20G5 features our "Super Quiet, Super Cool" Silent X 240W PSU. Tested in our acoustic lab from a distance of 50cm (many competitors take measurements at 1M), this Shuttle Silent X 240W PSU produces 32dB (or less) noise.
Intelligently Engineered Airflow
The ST20G5 features more air intake points designed to keep the motherboard cool and stable. The chassis and underside of this XPC feature strategically positioned intake points that channel cool air across critical components. These intake points are engineered--size and position--to minimize noise.
G5 Chassis
Meticulous attention to style, integration and aesthetics allows the ST20G5 easily integrates into the living room, bedroom or where ever your multimedia needs are. Enclosed in the popular G5 chassis, the ST20G5 is loaded with cool features to let you enjoy your digital life without the distraction of a distasteful beige box. Stealthed port, drive bays--G5's clean facia is thanks to three well-integrated stealth bay covers. The optical drive, floppy drive and front media ports can all be hidden from view when not in use--providing superior style and visual appeal.
ia Connectivity
The integrated media ports on the XPC G5's front panel have been designed for excellent functionality. The space between the USB ports has been increased to make room for devices such as digital camera and thumb drives to be installed at the same time. Also the line in jack has been moved to the back panel, providing a neat and functional finish.
egrated Cable Management
Starting with the SN85G4 (production version), all new XPC's will ship with integrated cable management to ease installation. IDE and/or SATA cables are pre-installed, and power leads are wrapped and clipped to the chassis. Other improvements in cable design can be noticed with the new ultra slim front daughterboard cable.
