NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5080 Mobile is a high-end RTX 50 Series graphics card for laptops. It is based on the new Blackwell architecture and features the same 16GB of VRAM as the previous-generation flagship 4090 Mobile. However, as with all mobile-class GPUs, it is not as fast as the desktop video card with the same name. That is largely due to power limits, which in a notebook computer are limited by the internal battery and portable AC adapter.
Alongside great performance and plenty of memory, the RTX 5080 Mobile also includes several major feature upgrades. There are improved video encoding and decoding capabilities, with added support for 4:2:2 chroma subsampling, as well as new generations of CUDA, tensor, and ray tracing cores. The VRAM is also made up of new, high-speed GDDR7 memory.
