NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5080 is one of the first consumer graphics cards in the GeForce RTX 50 Series, which is based on the Blackwell architecture. While this model brings only a modest increase in raw performance over the RTX 4080, and sports the same amount of VRAM as its predecessor, it does include several major feature upgrades. There are improved video encoding and decoding capabilities, with added support for 4:2:2 chroma subsampling, as well as new generations of CUDA, tensor, and ray tracing cores. Although still only equipped with 16GB of VRAM, this card does benefit from brand-new, high-speed GDDR7 memory. Most versions of the RTX 5080 use a multi-fan cooling layout, often similar to those used on the more expensive 5090. That is a great approach for keeping these cards cool and quiet, but it is frankly overkill considering how much less power they use. Unfortunately that physical size means most mid-size cases will only be able to accommodate one, but some larger towers may be able to handle two of them.

Finally, in regards to connectivity, there are one HDMI 2.1a and three DisplayPort 2.1 plugs supporting a total of up to four displays at a maximum resolution of 7680x4320 (8K).
