Puget Systems Professional Advice
Jon Bach (President) Says:
Power backup is a VERY good idea, but if you're going to do it, do it right and get a quality unit. We use this unit all over our office, and in our production department.

Daniel Brown (Customer Service) Says:
It is important to have a battery backup if you value your time, since power outages can destroy work in progress. I have a Tripp Lite 1000VA unit at home and it's served me well for the past 4 years, beeping to let me know the power is out and giving me enough time to save my documents and shut down. I'm confident in the quality of this 1500VA unit.

Jeff Stubbers (Customer Service) Says:
Not only are battery backups important for saving your work from a sudden power outage, but they protect your system from damage as well. The power out of the wall socket often has peaks and troughs, and that can cause stress to the power supply in your system. Battery backups provide 'clean power' that is steady rather than the power peaks and troughs you could get from the wall. It's also important to keep in mind that you will want a power backup that can handle your monitor as well as your system. If the power does go out, you will need to see your monitor in order to save your documents and properly shut down your system. I have this exact battery backup device at home, and it has saved me on multiple occasions.
