The Noctua NH-U9S TR4-SP3 is a high-end heatsink and fan cooling system for AMD's TR4 socket, which is used by the Threadripper CPU platform. The pair of compact 92mm fans which are mounted to this cooler reduce the overall height dramatically when compared to 120 and 140mm models. That smaller size allows use of this heatsink in 4U rackmount cases, which wouldn't be possible with larger fans.

Please note that when building AMD Threadripper rackmount systems we replace the stock Noctua fans on this cooler with higher airflow models from Everflow. That increases noise substantially, but then stock 4U rackmount case fans are not quiet to begin with anyhow.
