Background on Intel Core i3/i5/i7 (7th Gen / Kaby Lake) CPU
Intel's seventh generation of the Core processor series is codenamed Kaby Lake, and represents an incremental increase in performance for Intel's mainstream platform. These processors have inherited and refined the 14nm manufacturing process that was used for Broadwell and Skylake chips, and the optimization of this process has allowed for increases in clock speed.
For more details, check out our Kaby Lake articles for Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro and Solidworks.
This CPU selection comes with our overclocking service. We tweak system settings to boost the clock speed of the processor by a substantial amount, thus increasing performance of demanding games and applications. We are careful not to push too hard, though, so that stability is ensured as well. Since we do the overclocking, our parts warranty still extends to cover the system in case of any failures even with components running beyond their rated specs.
Please note that this option is only available in combination with an approved motherboard and cooling setup.
