Background on Intel 8th Gen Core Series CPU (Coffee Lake)
Intel's eighth generation of the Core processor series is codenamed Coffee Lake, and is the first time Intel has offered more than four cores in a mainstream CPU. These processors have inherited and refined the 14nm manufacturing process that was used in preceeding generations, which has allowed for additional cores across the board without sacrificing high clock speeds. In this lineup, desktop Core i7 processors have six cores and support twelve threads, Core i5 models have six cores with six threads, and the Core i3 has four cores with four threads. Core i5 and i7 models also support Turbo Boost for increased clock speeds based on how many cores are active at any given time.

Great for Video editing, Gaming, Streaming, VR, etc. Unlocked CPU makes for easy Overclocking. Using a Corsair H60 CPU Cooler will help ensure optimal temperatures when overclocking. If you are using or plan to use a Z370 motherboard then this is the go-to standard CPU to use.
