Background on Intel 9th Gen Core Series CPU (Coffee Lake)
9th Gen Intel Core Processors are a refresh of their Coffee Lake architecture, increasing both core count and clock speed over the previous generation. These processors have inherited and refined Intel's 14nm manufacturing process, and feature better thermal interface material as well. It is also the first time that Intel is using the Core i9 marketing name in a mainstream processor line, as the top-end model in this series. There are also Core i7 and i5 models, with lower-end i3 chips coming later on.
