Linux on Puget Systems Workstations and Servers

While Linux is growing in popularity every day, Microsoft Windows is still used on the vast majority of computers and many manufacturers do not provide drivers or support for their products under Linux. For that reason, Puget Systems cannot make any guarantees about the functionality of specific components or features when running Linux. Further, our willingness to install Linux should in no way be interpreted as a guarantee of that functionality. We do not provide tech support for the Linux OS, though you may be able to find support from the Linux community.

Ubuntu Linux is getting a lot of attention for the approach they are taking — leveraging community support, and combining it with paid professional support options, to provide the most user-friendly Linux experience possible. Ubuntu, by default, uses the Gnome desktop environment.

Most of our desktop and rackmount systems offer Linux as a configuration option, though occasionally we run into a motherboard that has major incompatibilities – and in those cases, we do not list Linux among the operating system choices.
