We’re introducing a host of new 1U and 2U systems to join our Puget Server lineup. Whether you need CPU compute, GPU power, fast storage, or all three – we’ve got you covered!
Overview
Over the course of 2025, we steadily expanded our server lineup – including our first forays into using MSI Enterprise Platform Solutions barebones systems. Working with great partners like MSI, we are now able to widen our product line and cover a greater breadth of customer needs. This first phase of expansion will bring 11 new servers to our portfolio over the course of the next few weeks, while retaining a few of our existing models that are already performing well.
All of the new servers we are announcing today support two M.2 drives internally for the OS, and anywhere from 4 to 24 U.2 SSDs in the front (and sometimes the back!) for storage. Other aspects of the MSI barebones designs we appreciate include:
- Shared components like motherboards, chassis, and power supplies between select models
- Consistent visual design across most of the models
- OCP 3.0 network card slots on almost all models
Beyond those physical characteristics, our relationship with partners like MSI helps improve collaboration between our engineering and support teams and manufacturer technical resources. In parallel, our supply chain team has worked closely with distribution channels to maintain consistent availability and short lead times for these systems. We look forward to the improvements these will bring to our manufacturing process and the benefits they will yield for our customers.
1U CPU Servers
First up, we will have four new 1U models for dense CPU compute – each with 12 front bays for NVMe storage. Single- and dual-CPU configurations are available for both AMD EPYC™ 9005 and Intel® Xeon® 6. Some of these are replacing older systems from prior generations, and they will live alongside an entry-level EPYC™ 4005 server that we added late last year. With the greatest core density in our lineup, these 1U servers are excellent for CPU-based rendering nodes as well as web and database servers.

2U CPU Servers
In the 2U space, options get a bit more diverse. We will have models that mirror the 1U line: single- and dual-CPU versions for both Intel and AMD, but with up to double the front bay capacity. These are especially well suited to use as storage servers, or for situations where you want to leave room for more drives to be added easily over time.

2U GPU Servers
With the added space and cooling that a 2U chassis provides, high-performance GPUs also enter the mix. We are keeping a pair of AMD EPYC-based options: a 2U quad-GPU server from ASUS that has been wildly popular with customers, as well as an MSI dual-GPU model that we added late last year. Three new Intel-based servers are going to join them, with options for single and dual Xeons with two GPUs or a single CPU and four GPUs!
At launch, most of these systems will be limited to 300W accelerators – with the exception of the quad-GPU Xeon design, which can handle a full set of four 600W NVIDIA RTX PRO™ 6000 Blackwell Server Edition cards! MSI has already announced that they will be bringing higher-power dual-GPU options to market later in 2026, though, so when those are available we will have a minor refresh of some models to better match the quad’s capabilities.
GPU-focused servers are perfect for rendering farms, other accelerated computational workloads, and of course AI inference and training.

Future Additions
These new models are just the first wave of improvements for our server line in 2026. Over the coming months, we will be refreshing our selection of 4U 8-GPU systems and adding a few multi-node CPU servers for higher-density deployments. We will also update some of the GPU-focused 2U systems to high-power variants as described above.
Once all of those additions are complete, the Puget Server line of products will be robust and better able to meet the needs of our customers. As always, though, if you have a need beyond what is covered by our standard offerings, please reach out and we can help design a custom server solution to fit your unique situation!
