The EVGA X299 Micro is a small form factor mATX motherboard built for the enthusiast Core X-series processors from Intel. Like all boards based on the X299 chipset it supports DDR4 memory, and with four slots it can fit up to 64GB total in a quad-channel configuration.
For external connectivity it boasts six USB 3.0 ports and two USB 3.1, with one of those being a Type C port for the latest peripherals. Digital and analog audio are included too, along with Gb Ethernet and 802.11ac WiFi. Internally there are six SATA 6Gbps ports, one U.2 connector, and one M.2 slot for drives - as well as USB headers for front panel ports / devices. Three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 size slots are present, with two running at x16 speed and one at x4 (or x16, x8, and x4 on CPUs with fewer PCI-E lanes).

William George (Marketing Project Manager) Says:
Please note that only normal DIMMs (not RDIMMs) are supported by the X299 Micro, hence the 64GB memory limit. Also, the PCI-Express slot speeds depend on the processor installed. Lower-end chips have fewer PCI-E lanes, so if you plan on using a lot of expansion cards please check with our consultants to make sure you get a CPU that will support everything you need.

Jeff Stubbers (Tier 3 Consulting Lead) Says:
This is an excellent MicroATX motherboard. This means it is a bit smaller than standard ATX motherboards so it can fit in a smaller case. However, this also means that it has a few less PCI-E expansion slots. So if you would like the capability to add more expansion cards (Firewire card, USB, RAID controller, or additional video cards) in the future, you may want to consider a standard ATX motherboard instead. The Gigabyte X299 AORUS 7 ATX motherboard also has 8 RAM slots for extra RAM expansion in the future, vs. 4 RAM slots on this motherboard.
