AMD EPYC Workstations
The EPYC line of processors from AMD may have been built with servers in mind, but these powerful CPUs offer fantastic multi-threaded performance and memory bandwidth that is ideal for many compute-heavy workloads.
AMD’s EPYC processors offer very high core counts and more memory channels than any of their desktop or workstation models. This product line uses a system-on-a-chip (SOC) design, which means there is a built-in I/O die and thus no need for a separate chipset on the motherboard to provide PCI-Express lanes, SATA controllers, etc.
Each EPYC 9004 series CPU features a 12-channel DDR5 memory controller and up to 96 of AMD’s Zen 4 cores. That focus on maximizing thread counts and memory bandwidth originates from the server-centric focus of these products, but those characteristics also make these processors extremely well-suited to certain workstation applications – especially in the areas of simulation and high-performance computing (HPC).

We currently only have one workstation that utilizes AMD EPYC processors, housed in a full-tower chassis because these large chips need a lot of motherboard space just for the socket and memory slots. However, we also offer EPYC CPUs in our rackmount workstations, servers, and storage solutions.
