Fractal R6 GPU replacement
The Fractal Define R6 is a hugely versatile case and installing additional devices is fairly easy and straight forward. In this article we will cover removal and installation of your video card. This section will cover the removal of a video card on your Puget System
Start by grounding yourself
Remove all power going into your system and orient yourself from the rear of the system
Remove the 2 thumb screws securing right hand side panel then slide panel off chassis
Locate the video card and remove the power cables going into it
Remove the bracing that is holding the video card in place
Remove the two thumb screws securing the video card into the case
With the screws removed we can now release the PCIe latch that holds the video card in the motherboard then pull the video card away from the motherboard and remove from the system
With the card removed we can remove the bracing screwed into the rear of the video card
Now we attach the bracing to the new card and proceed to "Install GPU into system"
Install GPU into system
This section will cover the installation of your new or replacement video card in the Fractal Define R6.
Secure the bracing onto the rear of the new video card
Slot the video card back into the PCIe slot being mindful of angles and bracing locations
Line up the video card into the case and firmly push to secure in motherboard so the PCIe latch is engaged
Screw the bracing back in then screw in the 2 thumb screws securing the video card to the rear of the chassis
Plug the power cables back into the video card
Return the side panel to the side of the case
Secure the side panel by screwing the 2 thumb screws into the rear of the case
Plug the PSU power back in and connect any other cables
Now patt yourself on the back because you just replaced your video card!
