Replacing a Power Supply (PSU) in the Fractal R6

The Fractal Define R6 is a hugely versatile case and installing and replacing devices is fairly easy and straight forward. In this article we will cover removal and installation of your PSU. Remove PSU

This section will cover the removal of a PSU on your Puget System

Step 1:

Start by grounding yourself

Step 2:

Remove all power going into your system and orient yourself from the rear of the system

Step 3:

Remove the 2 thumb screws securing left hand side panel then slide panel off chassis

Step 4:

Locate the PSU and remove the 2 screws securing it to the rear of the case

Step 5:

Once the screws are loose you can pull the PSU directly out of the case

Step 6:

With the PSU out of the case, unplug all cables from the rear of the PSU making note of which slot each one is occupying

 

Step 7:

Unscrew the brace attached to the defective PSU

Step 8:

Now attach the brace you removed, to the new PSU

Step 9:

Let's reattach all the cables to the rear of the PSU. All connections and ports are labeled to make this process simpler but it should be very close to where you unplugged them

Step 10:

Now slide the PSU back into your case, rescrew the thumbsrews and replace the side panel. Power up your system and you're good to go
