Remove HDD

This section will cover the removal of a HDD on your Puget System

Step 1:

Start by grounding yourself

Step 2:

Remove all power going into your system and orient yourself from the rear of the system

Step 3:

Remove the 4 thumb screws securing both side panels then slide panels off chassis

Step 4:

Locate the HDD and remove the power and data cables going into it

Step 5:

Remove the small screw securing the HDD tray in place

Step 6:

Remove the tray from the system

Step 7:

With the drive removed we can now remove the four screws securing the HDD to the tray, the rubber grommets keep the larger mechanical drives from vibrating

Step 8:

If you are installing a HDD you will need the grommets but if you are installing an SSD you can remove the grommets as SSDs don't spin and therefore don't need the additional vibration protection

Step 9:

Reverse steps if installing a HDD otherwise move on to the next section for installing an SSD

Install SSD into system

Step 3:

Secure the SSD to the tray using the screws included in your accessories box

Step 4:

Reinsert the SSD tray back into the case

Step 5:

Return the small screw securing the SSD tray to the system

Step 6:

Plug the power and data cables back into the SSD
