iStarUSA 4-Hard Drive Hot Swap Rack
A customer approached Puget Systems in search of a robust video editing workstation. High resolution cameras are part of his arsenal, and he needed quick and easy access to drive bays that would support the SSD drives these cameras use for storage.
William George from Puget Systems worked with the customer to configure a dual Xeon 16-core workstation with four Intel 520 240GB SSDs in RAID 0 and another four Western Digital RAID Edition 3TB drives in RAID 5.
"The drive array is what makes it different than what most of the custom builders
are pitching, and so far, it's working really well," said the customer
As for housing the SSDs, we installed an iStarUSA 4-drive hot swap rack making it easy for him to access drives from the front of the case.
We also added a Blu-ray burner and PNY Quardo K5000 card as well as pre-wired the Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced case for a Tesla card to be added at a later date.
"It's as quick as advertised", he said which makes us happy to hear.
