Overview
In DaVinci Resolve, Quick Sync provides additional hardware acceleration for working with H.264 & H.265 based footage to supplement the upgraded encoding and decoding capabilities of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX™ 50 Series video cards. Editors and color graders working with these codecs can get great performance for a relatively low price with this platform.
This same basic design is also a great fit for Resolve users who focus on Fusion, where Intel’s Core™ Ultra processors top the charts in our testing. This tool can benefit from more system memory, though, so we advise increasing the RAM to at least 128GB. If you want to offset that added cost, the video card can be scaled back to the GeForce RTX™ 5070 Ti. That card has the same amount of VRAM as the RTX™ 5080 but fewer decoders, which doesn’t affect Fusion but could slow down multi-cam workflows.
