Fusion was integrated into DaVinci Resolve relatively recently, and currently behaves quite a bit different than the rest of Resolve. Where editing and grading can utilize multiple GPUs and processors with a high number of CPU cores, Fusion is limited to a single GPU and prefers CPUs with high single-threaded performance.
Due to this difference in hardware preferences, we decided to launch a system that is optimized specifically for Fusion. This does not make it bad for the rest of Resolve (it is actually great for those on a bit of a tighter budget), but it does not have quite the raw CPU power as our Color Grading workstation and only supports dual GPUs.
If you are not sure which hardware choice is right for you we recommend reading through the Recommended Hardware section. And as always, don't hesitate to contact one of our technology consultants if you require assistance or a hardware configuration that is not covered by our recommended systems.
