Good food takes time

My wife and I recently spent the weekend in Portland, OR. We have 4 kids, which means when we go out to eat as a family, there are enough of us that we are considered a group. So the idea of a weekend of great dining — btw, Portland is the foodie capital of the US — with just the two of us, was a welcome change.

Out first dinner was at a place called Screen Door

People wait on the sidewalk an hour or more, just to get in the door and wait some more — the food is that good. On this night we didn't have to wait, we lucked out with perfect timing and were the second to last table to be seated when the doors opened.

When I opened the menu, there was a note that really stood out:

"In a hurry? Good food takes time. Please consider this when ordering."

In this age of "I want it right now" it was a relief that we walked into a place that put quality first. We didn't wait an unreasonable amount of time, but we did wait. Good food takes time.

We feel the same way about computers. Although we have been able to work most of our systems down to a 5-7 day production time, sometimes it takes longer.

All kinds of things come up during the build process. We check and double check. We tweak. We modify. We look for the perfect. Perfect builds take time and our standards are high. We want you to walk away feeling that every dollar you spent, every day you waited, was absolutely worth it.

Now, like my wife and I at the restaurant, you won't have to wait a lengthy amount of time for your system, but good computers take time. Please consider this when ordering.
