AppleCare vs Puget Systems Service

Support is one of the most critical aspects of our experience here at Puget Systems. We go through a very rigorous set of tests and qualifications to make sure that the system you’re getting meets our high standards. We do understand, however, that there may be times when Support is needed to resolve an issue with a system component, or even if one of our customers has a question about the machine they’re using. We take pride in answering every case, and every question that comes to us as best we can.

One of the frequent questions we get asked from our customers crossing over from Mac OS X is about AppleCare. Some are worried they won’t have access to equivalent support, when moving to PC, which is a legitimate concern considering the level of service that Apple provides under AppleCare. So many are not sure if we offer anything comparable.

Thankfully, I can say that we do!

To break down what Apple offers, their support and warranty services are rolled into one system they call AppleCare. The great thing about AppleCare is that parts are covered within the entire length of the AppleCare. But, should you choose to bypass AppleCare, there is little to no walk-in support. Here is a breakdown of what AppleCare includes, and can include, as well as what you can expect from us.

AppleCare

  • Included:
    • 1-year Warranty & 90 days of Technical Support
      • Parts covered while under warranty
  • Extra:
    • 3 Year Warranty and Technical Support
      • Parts covered while under warranty

Puget Systems Support

  • Included:
    • 1-year Warranty & Lifetime Technical Support
  • Extra:
    • 2 or 3 Year Parts Warranty & Lifetime Technical Support

Puget Systems offers incredible support, and our warranty page provides transparency to our customers in how we plan to go about providing you better service. Our biggest difference from AppleCare, though, is that we offer lifetime labor and technical support for all of our systems. This is where I feel that we really provide top tier service. It doesn’t matter if your system is 1 day old, or 10 years old. If you purchased the machine from us, we’ll be there to help for the lifetime of the machine. We don’t end support at the 3 year mark, we don’t charge you extra for support, and we don’t force you to make appointments to talk to us. On top of all of that, if you call during our normal Support hours (7am – 5pm PST), a real person with hands-on experience is going to pick up the phone.

We hope this article provides some ease of mind on what happens if something goes wrong with your Puget Systems’ PC. We are readily accessible, and our support team comes from a wide range of technological backgrounds to better assist you, and if you have any further questions, please reach out to us and we would be happy to answer.
