Puget Systems Description

The Lian-Li Lancool PC-K7B is a hybrid aluminum case with a SECC frame. Though it is compact in size, it will fit standard ATX motherboards and PS2 power supplies. It includes two 120mm intake fans in the front of the case and one 120mm exhaust fan at the rear. In a unique design move, the multi-media front I/O and switches are located on top of the chassis for easy access.

This is a great chassis, but the fans are a little under powered. For best airflow and quiet operation, you should add a case fan upgrade kit.

This chassis is basically very similar to the Lian-Li PC7H, with some improvements and a little fancier styling.
I had the PC7H at home (the older style with the 80mm fans) and it was a great chassis overall. The two problems I had with my PC7H were that the airflow was a little lacking with the smaller fans, and that the hard drives were really noisy in the stock mounting brackets - so much so that I ended up chopping up a spare Antec P180 soft-mounting bracket and riveting it in to my chassis. The K7B chassis purports to solve both problems, providing even better cooling than the new style PC7H, plus stock soft-mounting for the hard drives, which should quiet them down a lot.
One (admittedly small) thing I'm not impressed by with this chassis is the ridiculous 'METAL BONED K7' advertising on the box it comes in. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything :)

PROS:
This is an affordable great looking case! I appreciate the clean, symmetrical look of this case. It's lightweight and compact, yet designed to allow for clean wiring. So if you plan on moving your computer a lot, the lightweight nature of this case may be a particular benefit for you.
CONS:
This case has thin side panels and if it is placed in an area that gets vibration, the case side panels have a tendency to rattle. The other downside to this case is that the case fans aren't the best quality, so it doesn't provide the best airflow for cooling. I do recommend getting a Case Fans Upgrade Kit for this case. If you want to use high-end components that create a lot of heat, this might not be the ideal case for you.

The Lancool K7 is a nice lightweight system capable of housing most high-end components. The front panel ports and power/reset buttons are located on the top of the case for easy access from a floor stationed location and with an aluminum construction, moving the system is a little easier on your back. Though the aluminum contruction also means that vibration noise from drives will be more noticable.

The Lancool K7 from Lian-Li is an attractive and light-weight mid-tower solution. Two 120mm intake fans and a 120mm exhaust provide excellent airflow, and the front bezel is very easily removed to access the intake fan filters. The hard drive cage is mounted directly by the intake fans, so drives get very good cooling. Like other Lian-Li cases, the aluminum construction makes the K7 very light-weight compared to steel-framed cases of similar size, but vibrations can sometimes cause the side panels to rattle slightly.
