The ASUS RS520A-E12-RS24U is a 2U rackmount storage server built to accommodate up to twenty-four 2.5-inch NVMe drives. It utilizes an AMD EPYC 9004 Series processor, which supports a massive number of PCI-Express Gen 5 lanes as well as 12 DDR5 channels - ensuring plenty of memory and I/O bandwidth for managing software-defined storage arrays.
In addition to the 24 front-accessible hot-swap bays, there are two M.2 slots for hosting the operating system and software as well as a pair of SATA connections for cache drives.
External connectivity consists of VGA output, four USB ports (2 each in front and back), two Gb LAN ports, and another LAN for remote management. There is an OCP 3.0 slot for installing a faster network adapter, though, as well a PCI-Express x8 low-profile slot for an expansion card.
