The Tyan Transport SX TS65-B8036 is a barebones server housed in a 2U rackmount chassis. It comes with a proprietary motherboard that fits a single AMD EPYC processor and 16 memory modules, supporting up to 2TB of total system memory. Several PCI-Express slots are also available, but the power supplies do not provide any PCI-E power connections - so the types of expansion cards which can be used are somewhat limited.
Basic graphics output is provided by an Asmedia chip and VGA connector. In terms of storage, there are two internal M.2 slots (x2 x2) for NVMe SSDs and twelve front-accessible bays supporting either 2.5 or 3.5-inch SATA drives. Four of those bays also support NVMe drives. Dual gigabit Ethernet ports are included for networking, along with a third LAN port that is dedicated for remote management (IPMI). Connectivity is rounded out with four USB 3.0 ports (two each on the front and back) and one old-school serial COM port. All of this is powered by a pair of redundant 800W Platinum-rated power supplies.
