The Asetek 836S-M1A is a high-end, all-in-one liquid cooling system designed for AMD Threadripper processors. To best cool these high-wattage CPUs, it features a full-size cold plate and large 360mm radiator with three 120mm fans. A powerful pump is integrated directly above the water block, but its compact profile ensures there is no interference with RAM module access or PCI-Express slots.
When building systems with this cooler, we normally include three Noctua NF-F12 fans to provide good airflow through the radiator along with low noise output. For some rackmount configurations, more powerful Noctua iPPC models may be needed instead to provide increased airflow for the system at the cost of some additional noise.

Such coolers are technically viable, but can lead to thermal throttling under heavy workloads and the loss of a little bit of performance.
