The EVGA Step Up Program

If you have purchased a new computer with an EVGA GTX graphics card within that last 90 days, and want to upgrade to a new GTX 1080 or GTX 1070 continue reading.
EVGA has an option available to upgrade your graphics card to a newer one. In particular, if you want one of the new Pascal cards, including the GTX 1080 or GTX 1070, you can use their Step Up program to do so. There are a few gotcha’s and exclusions that I will try to cover below. Keep in mind that this offer is handle through EVGA, but we're posting about it since some of our customers have asked about upgrading recently purchased video cards.
- The quick run down is if you purchased a new EVGA graphics card from us or a system that has one in it, Within 14 days of your order date You can register the card on EVGA and submit for an upgrade.
- If you missed the 14 day window, EVGA allows you to purchase an extended warranty which will bring your upgrade window up to the 90 days from your order date (and the EVGA warranty also transfers to the new card. Note: The Puget warranty is not extended to the new card, but we can help you work with EVGA if you need it replaced. The cost of the warranty upgrade varies depending on the cards, but is typically fairly low.
- Afterwards, you pay the difference of what was paid for your card, and what EVGA charges for the card you want, as well as the shipping charges.
- You setup the Step Up on their website. After doing so, you'll be asked to send them your card and any accessories that may have come with it like the manual, any video adapters, or driver CD. If we did not send these to you, no worries! EVGA makes exceptions to the accessories rule for people that purchased whole systems and if you have any troubles you can give them a call. - If the graphics card arrives to them damaged you may no longer be eligible for the upgrade, so make sure to package it very safely.
All you will need is to do is go to their website http://www.evga.com/support/stepup/
You will want to make sure to have your Puget Systems invoice (a digital copy) and the graphic card's serial number ready. You can find the serial number printed on your invoice underneath the listing for the graphics card, or on a sticker directly on the graphics card itself. To get your Puget Systems invoice, go to your Account Page, log in if needed, then click on your order. Clicking "Print Invoice" will give you a PDF copy of your invoice. After that, go to the EVGA site and follow the instructions below:
- First you will need to register a new account if you do not already have one. http://www.evga.com/support/register.asp
- Then register your graphics card with your serial number
- Click on my products and then go to your graphics card
- Click view details
- And finally click step up and then just follow the instructions it gives you
