Intel's seventh generation of the Core processor series is codenamed Kaby Lake, and represents an incremental increase in performance for Intel's mainstream platform. These processors have inherited and refined the 14nm manufacturing process that was used for Broadwell and Skylake chips, and the optimization of this process has allowed for increases in clock speed.
